To ensure the identification of current literature, we updated this search in MEDLINE using the same search strategy through January 5, 2024, to identify additional concepts or experiences from literature published since our initial search. We screened additional citations identified in January 2024, as described earlier.

Studies indicate that concerns about quality of care and depersonalization can negatively influence acceptance of telehealth technology by residents and their families [50,72,84,85]. According to some managers (12/27, 44%), buy-in from residents, families, and resident committees was a facilitator of the implementation of teleconsultation. The managers observed that transparent communication and regular meetings with these stakeholders helped establish a climate of trust.
